Entry: "These frickin dreams of mine…"
Most of the time when I dream it is about stuff that makes no sense whatsoever, at least at the time when I am dreaming. Many times when I am dreaming, the details of the dream are all jumbled up but not so much as to the point where I can’t tell what I am dreaming about. For example I could be dreaming of events that took place during my childhood but the house in the dream is my current house that I live in now as an adult or perhaps I will dream that I’m upstairs in my sisters house but when I walk down the stairs in the dream it’s my mother’s house or some other weird criss-crossing of times and places. When I was younger, I used to dream that I was flying in the air like a superhero or something or that I could do impossible things like jumping off buildings and whatnot.
Last night I dreamed some pretty weird stuff that made no amount of sense whatsoever…The dream started out with me walking through a very crowded downtown Baltimore but somehow it really wasn’t Baltimore, although some of the buildings were from here it appeared to be a different city. I had the impression that I was in Baltimore although some of the signs indicated that I was in a place called Carrolton, Carolton, or Carlton, I cannot remember the exact spelling. Everyone in my dream seemed to be speaking a foreign language though, or at least I had a hard time understanding what the heck they were saying. At one point in the dream, I found myself in a shop that seemed to specialize in selling local souvenirs that a tourist would buy when visiting a different city, such as keychains, magnets, postcards etc. The clerk behind the counter was telling me that I should get something to take home with me and I kept telling him I was already home, already in Baltimore. This went back and forth for a few moments and feeling agitated, I ended up not buying anything, As I was leaving the shop, I turned to say good-bye to the clerk but somehow the shop had transformed into some sort of school and instead of a clerk, there now were three female soldiers at the counter. The first soldier who appeared to be of Caucasian descent, was speaking English but with a very heavy and distinct southern drawl and was holding a map in her right hand that had a whole lot of cities circled in red ink, and in her left hand was a wilted flower. She said her name was “Past”. The second soldier who appeared to be of Asian descent, and spoke what I took to be Chinese, carried in her right hand a small statue of a dog and in her left hand she held something that was so bright it was hard to look at. She said her name was “Present”. The third soldier appeared to be of Middle Eastern descent, and was speaking Arabic, or at least that’s what I took it for in the dream. In her right hand she held a sword with flames coming from the tip, and in her left hand was a blank slip of paper. She said her name was “Future”. As I moved towards them to introduce myself they all began speaking at the same time but for some reason I could understand all of them simultaneously as they spoke. They all seemed to be friendly and knew who I was already. I felt no fear whatsoever except for the fact that I couldn’t seem to speak. Every time I opened my mouth to talk, nothing came out. I was told to leave at once for home and prepare for a great feast. As I was leaving the school the dream “shifted” scenes and I found myself right where I started in the dream, walking through downtown Baltimore. This time however the streets were deserted and I was alone. Feeling apprehensive now I tried waking myself up as I usually do whenever I feel a nightmare coming on. Once awoke I laid there in bed trying to figure out what the heck I had just dreamed. So there you have it folks…please refrain from the usual “this man is crazy” isht and tell me what your take on this whack dream is.
12 brothers and sisters helped me to understand.

wow hey nice layout but crazy dream. it seems to me that somehow that dreams all pointing to one surtain thing. Meeting the past present in future is what puts me to that feeling. i cant exactly tell you what i actually think it means cuz im nto sure. but best of luck to u on figuring it out. take care
Hey Tashie, what's new with you? Thanks for the complimento, but this layout is starting to pluck my first and last nerve, time for change soon. Whatever that past, present, future connection is in that dream it lost me, maybe it has something to do with being at war with other countries, I dunno. Good to hear from ya again, have a good week!...greggy

ummm uh I agree, the ladies representing past, present and future are symbolic of "something" But what? And why soldiers of different ethnicities??? Maybe you are troubled by the war in Iraq -who knows. Did you eat or drink heavily before laying down???? Taco Bell? That might explain it all lol
hehehe...ok, ok, I knew I was aking for it! No I didn't eat or drink heavily before laying down, but I did have a bowl of Frosted Flakes while in the bed! VIOLA! Cotsnabbit! I knew all along that you knew I knew that you knew I knew! thanks for leaving your Zen philosophy up in heah!...greggy :o)

I adore dreams, poetry of the sleeping mind is so free and undulating. The ladies of past/present/future are fabulous foreign sounding muses. You want to travel? You would like to learn more languages? You feel close ties to your hometown but maybe you don't feel you have explored it thoroughly enough and perhaps experience sensations of being a tourist in your own space. "Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?'
'That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,' said the Cat.
'I don't much care where --' said Alice.
'Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.
'--so long as I get somewhere,' Alice added as an explanation."
~ Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
Hmmm...I know Meadow, out of the whole dream the three ladies were what stood out the most, what I was wondering about was what was the significance of the female soldiers versus male soldiers (what one would normally expect to see with military issues). Your interpretation kind of makes sense...who know's with dreams? It did have a kind of Alice in Wonderland feel to it. Perhaps I will share a few more of my dreams here if you guys promise not to write me off as a looney...LOL...greggy

Well brother Greg. I'll tell you man. You'll make yourself go nuts if you start dissecting and analyzing your dreams man. Good job on remembering all of that detail. I usually forget my dreams. Unlike that one I had with the ladies a week ago. Now that one was one for the ages. Your dreams sounded like a few of them molded into one. Good post my man. Have a good one!
I know Frank..actually I gave up a long time ago with the over-analyzing bit, now it's more like fun for me as I go back over what my brain was doing while I was sleep...LOL. Dreams can really tell you a lot about the world around you though if you take the time to remember them. I never try to analyze my dreams too deeply but I did learn a long time ago how to capture dream details as soon as I wake up while it's still fresh in the noggin...most of the time it's fun and and I really enjoy the vividness and symbolisms I dream about. If I have a nightmare or a "bad" dream then of course they are more vivid too, which isn't fun then...but all in all, I don't "read" too much into most of them...find a groove this wknd my brutha!...greggy

Ummm G man Your beginning to scare me. From your dream it sounds as if life as we know it is coming to an end. I suggest you have someone analyze this dream and if they dont help take sleeping pills before going to bed again LOL!!! Luv you buddy have a great weekend
Relax my dear! :o) My dreams aren't that scary to me. I didn't look at it that way at all, to me I thought the dream meant that I was going to go downtown and get my shop on, then there was going to be some kinda take-over of the joint by a bunch or Army feminists, which of course would leave me speechless. Then they tell me to take my butt home and get something to eat before it get's too cold and everyone else leaves...*shrugs*.....LOL ...luv ya back! Take advantage of the weather this weekend and go fulfill your spirit!...greggy

Hey Greggy! Wow, that dream is deep. There are so many symbols in it that could be pointing to something in your subconscious that you haven't dealt with and maybe need to. The past, present, and future thing is what rattled me; maybe they represent fears you have or unfinished biznez. I wish I could find my "Dictionary of Dreams" book so I could tell you what each represents.
It's fantastic that you were able to remember so much of your dream!
Hi A~ Every since my late twenties I have learned how to capture the details of my dreams upon awakening. That past, present, future thing has been a subject of a few of my dreams over the years, in fact one of my current pictures I've been working on for the longest time deals with that theme...If you ask me, all my dreams are very detailed and vivid. Heck, I aint complaining, it's like getting cable while I'm sleep!...greggy

oh i totally understand what you mean with the dream thing... i have the weiordest dreams that make no sense, also i used to dream about meeting my father at a birthday party, wne i know in my dream that he died... but then he's there and i know he died but still it's the most normal thing that he's there at the party.. lol confused?
Now that sounds like a dream full of symbolisms to me. Perhaps the birthday party could mean happiness or good feelings as it relates to your father...Sometimes dreams are just that though...dreams. And then sometimes dreams could be our brain's way of relaxing the boundaries between our conscious and unconscious levels of thought while resting...Dr. Greggy
