Entry: "Happy Holiday Weekend to you!"
Hey Family...I got up this morning full of ideas, thought processes, brain cell synapses and whatnot, but somewhere between the time I fell out of bed up until now when I sat down at my PC, any meaningful blather that I had to blog about just went out the door...probably because that's what my tail is about to do also in a few. Seeing as how our last "real" summer weekend is now upon us, I had to at least blog a few new lines to the folk who matter to me...
Just a lil' thought for my Friday...
I remember when I was first getting into the internet, to me computers were a new thing...I didn't even know squat about the internet then, except for what I'd heard from family and friends and the media. Everyone was all abuzz about the dangers of the internet, how stalkers were at evey click of the mouse, some even went as far as insinuating to me that "everyone" on the internet was bad or perverted or lurked all day in chatrooms...LOL. In actuality, they were partially right...but on the short side. The vast majority of the folks I've run across on-line have been all about being a cool and rational human being. Of course I've had my share of contact with some who obviously have major issues and carry bad karma with them...but that's life. But overall I have my Soul Train to thank for enriching my life on a daily basis with your friendships.(especially you) Some of you guys make me feel almost as if we relations or sum'..lol. :o)
So with that said, Happy Friday and I pray that all of my web family has a safe and fun holiday weekend. And watch out for all those fool drivers out there too!
12 brothers and sisters helped me to understand.

I missed the memo about the web being full of stalkers and weirdoes, however, I found out in time that they were out there in large numbers. Can you imagine? People harassing other people, stopping by their site, camouflaging their "true" selves and to appear as other folks. Man, I hope I never get caught! Hahahaha -enjoy your weekend brotha Greggy!
LOL, yeah Broman I hope you never get caught too...LMAO! Seriously, the net is teeming with the denizens of the deep, we all have to just watch where our mouse takes us. It's the perfect place for stalkers and their ilk to thrive though from the way it's set up. All in all though, you guys make it all worth the effort of maintaining a presence here. You and your gang have a blast this long weekend, brudda! I'll check ya latah!...G

This is a "dropbyquoting"
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us. It is in everyone. And as we let our light shine, we give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Thanx for that drop Meadow. Actually it's an interesting take on the concept of inner fear. I never considered that unconsciously I may be fearing my own success and that in itself could be holding me back from greatness....hmmm. A wonderful quote Meadow, thanx for sharing...G

I had a stalker while on the Planet. Remember Angry Lover? Well, yeah, he would send mean notes pretending be someone else through other members pages. Finally I figured it out and people had told me it was him all along. He hated that I grew in popularity and that I caught him taking credit for one of my graphics. I got so disgusted I abruptly left BP because it wasn't worth it. I've never looked back.
Other than him and spammers, the net has been a groovy place to congregate and meet wonderful, artistic peeps like yourself.
Enjoy your weekend Greggy!
*jaw dropping*..."Angry"? Gawd, I remember seeing his post on every page there..LMAO! Sorry you had to encounter that, but I also had a very bad experience at BP as well with a "person wearing a mask", if you know what that means...what an utter waste of time and energy for one to do stuff like that. Needless to say that one experience at BP left me hurt and bitter as well and also distrustful of folk in general and very shortly after that I lost my taste for BP and moved on as well. One good thing that I can claim for my time on the internet is that I've met many wonderful folk, you included my friend, who share the same ideals and general perspectives that I do and make the internet a vibrant part of my life. I've also met my best friend here, on the internet so it's turned out OK by my book so far. You have a wonderful long weekend as well!...G

Stalkers thank goodness I haven't come across any. Lucky for them *stab* *stab* *kick to the forehead* I've met a lot of good people on the net including you Greggy.I hope in my travel across cyber space I'll continue to meet more. have a wonderful holiday weekend little one
Yes indeed you are fortunate for not encountering the stalkers..Like you state, there are many good people on the net, they far outnumber the "baddies". I hope also that encounter nothing but positivity in your travels through cyber-space. You enjoy your holiday as well dear...

Maaaan the things I was warned about the internet when I first started comng online LOL. I was warned about stalkers too and how everyone who chatted were perverts lol. You are right there are plenty of freaks and weirdos out there but there are also very nice and kind people like youself who make the internet a fun place to be. My mom even thought your page was a chatroom until I showed it to her LOL. Now I can't keep her away she loves your art Thanks for enriching OUR lives greggy! You have a wonderful holiday and stay out of harms way. let me know about the Dr's appt., ok? Take care greggy
Yep Toya. Thats not to say that there aren't freaks and weirdoes out here on-line but you just have to learn to recognize fakery when you come across it, yanno? Kinda funny now, but when I first put up my tagboord and blog on my site, I met with a lot of "resistance" from some off-line friends and family who thought I was installing an internet chatroom on my site..LMAO! Thank you's to your Mom for loving my art, all of you have an enjoyable rest of the holiday weekend!...G

I'm just hanging 'round the net holed up in my apt. waiting on Frances.
I "so" feel you about the net. I was told the same thing initially, even after I had been on the net for months. Then one day I thought "Hey, I'm here & I'm not perverted, lol".
Plus, like you, I've come across some really great people (like yourself). Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
France, thank you so much for taking the time to stop and say Hi! Yeah, in the beginning, folk had me scared to surf around what with thoughts of stalkers and crazed perverts at every site..lol. After being here for a few years now, I can see how overblown a lot of that was. There are the bad and the ugly but the good folk I vibe with far outnumber the bad by far!!! Take care this weekend, what a bummer the last summer weekend of the year is a washout for you with a hurricane ...stay safe and make the most of it, ok?.......G
