Entry: "A music meme?"

Ok...After being tasked by Cheryl to complete a music meme, I jumped at the chance to get my groove on...LOL. Here goes:

Random 10 songs that come to mind:
1. Flashlight - Parliament
2. Always & Forever - Heatwave
3. Brown Skin -India Arie
4. Daddy's All Gone - Average White Band
5. Somebody Already Broke My Heart - Sade
6. Superhero - Brian McKnight
7. Have You Seen Her?- The Chi-Lites
8. Didn't I Blow Your Mind This Time?? - ?
9. I want to do Something Freaky to You- Parliament?
10. Sexual Healing - Marvin Gaye

What is the total amount of music files on your computer? 7-most of my music stuff is off-line storage.

The last CD I bought was: can't even remember...I "borrow" CD's now ...LOL

What is the last song you listened to before this message? Sexual Healing

Write down five songs you often listen to or that mean a lot to you:

1. Always & Forever - Heatwave
2. Let's Get it On-Marvin Gaye
3. All songs by Sade
4. Just about anything by Brian McKnight
5. Shower Me with Your Love-Surface stirs up many a wonderful memory...don't it?

12 brothers and sisters helped me to understand.

Thanks for stopping by Gregg. Nice blog, I'm gonna lift a quote from your profile from time to time: "I'm an unwavering Believer in Christ, don't even try to convince me otherwise." By the way, so is the girl I got the flowers for...and she's from B-more...and she's currently single...

Hey, this list looks like something right out of the Fantasy's Top 10 random list of all time. I'm right there with you my brother. It's too bad we couldn't write 20 or them. That's about how many I came up with before I realized I was only supposed to provide...yikes, 10! Holla!

Well you know what they say brotha man..."artists of a feather jam together!" I was tempted to bust the whole meme and list all of my favorites too but that would have been just plain greedy, no?..LOL.
Happy airbrushing to you!...G

wow greggy, i really think number 7 suits you so well razz lol dont ask me why, it just does razz

Really Noelle? Hmmm..."Have You Seen her?"...It is one of my favorites, I enjoy singing this one, except when I get to the "high" notes. It makes for a lovely romantic ballad to sing to a loved one for sure! Have a great weekend!...greggy

Umm, that would be the Chi-Lites, Greggy. lol Just thought a reportedly insane woman would help a brotha out. hehehe

*grinning* I wasn't sure at the time I did that meme, since I was going mainly from memory...and you do know what happens to memory in old folk???? As for you being "reportedly" insane? I beg to differ...let's try "ya damn skippy" insane!!! LMAO! *ducking*...greggy

yes music is a complete lifeline to me actually. i love music, i wish music could have birthed me. j/p neways thanks for hollerin' back at me. i'm like you sometimes i borrow cd's but then again i dont do that much anymore. i now only buy the cd's that i know that i want. and then when i get to the store i'm standing there for like almost 10 minutes trying to remember what cd i came in there to get because i completely forgot. i'm too young to have such a short memory.

hmmm...maybe the young lady should pursue a musical dream??? Are you talented with an instrument or can the lady hit some notes? I love music also, but I really wish I could sing or play guitar. As far as me borrowing CD's, I only do that so I could burn a copy for myself...You sound like your memory is worse than mine! Heck I go in a store to get one thing and wander around for half and hour trying to discover what the heck it was I came in there for in the first place!...Enjoy ya weekend!...G

A lot of those songs hold memories for me too. My mom and dad used to play some of those records when they played cards on friday nights.

lol @ "playing cards on Friday nights"...That's exactly what me and my crew used to hang and do...every Friday night almost..playing tonk for chump change...Of course that was before any of us had a life. But some of those songs do stir up some powerful memories of my earlier years...G

Greggy you didn't complete the meme! Who are you passing it along to?
I forgot about Sade. I wonder why we don't hear about or see more of her?

I'm going to sneak on American Idol and sing 'Always and Forever' like I do at home because that's the only song I think I can sing well, but sadly nobody else thinks that but me.
Have a great Thursday Greggy and thanks for keeping the meme going!

whoops! Bad Greggy! Sade is prolly laying up somewhere just oozing raw beauty! lol. I know what you mean about singing like an Idol while at home or in the car or in the shower...but put a mic in front of a brutha and you'll be sure to get "startled"! I love the amazing variety we all have in music tastes!...G
