Entry: "Running away with me..."

I wasn't going to blog about that Georgia runaway bride deal but after listening to a surprising number of people speaking out in her defense, I must chip in my two shekels now...I find it astounding to hear some people say that she shouldn't be charged with any crimes since it was basically a plea for help and she was having issues...So! I have issues every frinking day, but you don't see me hopping on the nearest bus fleeing to some strange city saying an interracial couple kidnapped me?? Hell yes she should be charged with something. Do you realize how much money they spent looking for her tail? Here she was chilling out in another state probably watching the whole episode on the hotel T.V. while folk were crawling through sewers and dog poop looking for her. Hell yes she should be charged! If I was one of those volunteers who took off a few days work or spent some serious time out in the wild looking for her, I would be pissed to the max. Imagine just how much damage she caused to all the other folk in the future who really will get kidnapped and need help but because of her selfish butt a lot of people won't be so willing to believe there was even a kidnapping and won't look as hard or as long. I am not denying that the girl needs serious help, but that doesn't change the facts of the matter. I can't help but believe that since she's apparently some sort of "All-American" girl next door living the good life, law enforcement wants to take it easy with her...girl done went and gave folk all kinds of ideas now...lemme see, I don't feel like going to work today, can't handle the "stress"...maybe I should run on down to the bus station and get a ticket outta here, anywhere away from here for a few days, or at least until my loot run out, then I'll call home and say a van full of crack smoking Swedish nuns kidnapped me, braided my hair so I wouldn't get recognized, threw me in the van, drove me to Canada, and then released me days later after I proved I wasn't Lionel Ritchie...think it'll work?...LOL

Y'all be good...very, very good!

Agreeing with you my brutha - first thing that pissed me off about the whole thing was her saying it was a Hispanic man. Fry her, I say. I'll worry about her "fragile emotional state" after she does some time.

I definitely agree with you, Greggy. This princess wannabe invited what, like 600 people to her fuggin wedding. I can't imagine the gifts and money the prospective guests kicked in. And the parents. The families will probably have to hide under a rock now. Not to mention the search parties, the volunteered time spent looking, the stress on a gazillion people, that's what they get for caring? She should absolutely be charged. I had no idea that she spun the lie into a race issue. Urgh. Sickening?!
Ok. Now that you got me goin.. I'm outta here! Happy Mother's day to Mrs. B. Heh. wink

Man, when you let it go brotha, you let it go. I have to be like everyone else on this panel. This issue took on a totally different spin the moment it seemed like the kidnapping hoax was all premeditated.

I too felt as though, all of that concern, worrying, man power from volunteers and officers, the posting of flyers and tv exposure...that bill is being footed by someone. And to think that she was okay, watching everything unfold on CNN or wherever. How tragic is that? I didn't blog about her, although part of me started to and then I deleted the post. She was truly a foolish individual mr. Greg.

LOL!!!! You ain't say braiding your hair. You know, this pisses me off to NO END. White women are famous for that crying wolf BS! And white America falls for it every time. And wussup with them always blaming another race? That ish boggles me to this day. One of these days, a missing white woman is gonna be like another brother getting shot in the hood. Then they'll understand what we go thru.

Hey now! Nona, you aint never lying! I never figured out why it always got to be a black man who done it, a dark skinned man, a latino or hispanic perp all the time? And she didn't even have her lie straight either...said they cut her hair before they threw her in the van? A Hispanic man and a white woman at that? Your Honor...I rest the Peoples case in this matter...*strolling back to Prosecutors table looking slick*...greggy

oooh yes I agree with you, she deserves some kind of punishment for all that lying. That was just crazy.

I bet even money she gets the lightest charge possible and it'll be a suspended one at that due to her "fragile emotional state".*smh*...greggy

Okay, you kilt me dead with the Lionel Ritchie thingy. LMAO I got a question: Was that pic of her looking all bug-eyed the best they could do? LOL

:o) You aint lying Yolie! That picture I think they purposely picked that one in order to stoke public sympathy for her ahead of time before they even started looking for her. That deer in the headlights pose...like she's helpless and not all there...needing our sympathy, please stop what you are doing this instant and go looking for this poor lost girl who was just about to get married...Awwwww, America's sweetheart...Awwww!...&*%$#PFPTTTTT!!!!..Ok?...greggy

I keep thinking, just wait till she actually gets married, and the stress really kicks in. That man wife is gonna be missing every other month, running off to Vegas or where ever over who left the toilet seat down.

LOL...yeah D, jut wait until ole girl hooks him for reaL...I'm just thinking though, what's going to happen if she really gets kidnapped or disappears in the future...will anyone take it seriously? Or not even about her...will every real kidnapping now be viewed as highly suspicious and less resources spent to find somone? She caused all sorts of hidden damage for sure...greggy

You are too funny! But I completely agree with you. At first I felt bad for thinking she should be held accountable once I heard the numerous opinions saying that she shouldn't be charged, blah, blah, blah. One newspper commentator wrote an article stating that this woman doesn't owe the public an apology. While I don't expect or desire an apology from her, she owes hundreds of others an apology, including her parents who were GRIEF STRICKEN over her disappearance! Who doesn't have second thoughts about getting married. That doesn't give anyone the right to send law officials on a wild goose chase! There are others who are truly missing and still need to be found. I wonder what they would have done to her had she done something like this in Singapore (remember the caning of the American man).

I can't believe someone wrote an article like the one you described...wow! And you are so right about her parents and very close relatives...imagine the grief and terror they were going through thinking the worst...*smh*..plus I saw on TV today the timeline of when she bought the bus ticket etc...she had this joker plannned form the jump!...Oh goodness Tam, yes I remember the Singapore caning incident...they take crime and shenigans seriously over there for sure!!...greggy

I think someone should kidnap her and take her to Alberquerque and lock her ass up in a barn somewhere.
Nobody will bother to look for her this time. Like you were saying Greggy: Remember the boy that cried wolf? angry, grr

Yeah I remember well...It's just painful to think of how selfish that was on her part. People really get kidnapped and murdered on the daily and she pulls some childish prank like that...sheeeshh!...greggy

LOL, LOL Greggy! You are so cuuurrraazzzyyy! Yep, pisses me off too. So many people REALLY SUFFERING out there who would like to start a new life & she's got the whole world worried about her pampered, princess behind because she has cold feet?!! Give me a friggin' break!!

Women like that REALLY irritate me, & it REALLY pisses me off that she named some Hispanic man as the kidnapper. They need to find something to charge her azz with...that's a load of BS! Bet if it was some gettofied, minority woman they'd find something. Hmph, no they wouldn't 'cause they never would have been searching for a poor minority woman to that extent in the first place. She'd have probably fallen' through the cracks. Anyway, agree with you 100%. angry, grr

You are so right France...if it had been a woman of color, you best believe it wouldn't even have made the local newspaper, let alone major media. What I couln't gather from is all was this: What was she planning on doing and saying after it became obvious her family and husband-to-be were going to be looking for her??? *smh*...greggy
