Entry: "Times a changin...."
I remember when I was much younger I was fascinated with the concept of flying saucers and alien beings. Of course way back then I was fascinated by just about anything that seemed out-of-this-worldish at the time. Things like space travel, other people on other planets, time travel, those kinds of things. I still am to a certain degree, and that is only because my adult mind has clarified and analyzed the world over the years and given me a more balanced perspective as to what is real and what is not real, what is possible and what is impossible. Now as I've grown a bit older and have started paying much more detailed attention to scientific advances that have taken place recently and also things that are being brought to fruition now, especially on the medical/scientific frontier, my views on what seemed impossible years ago has changed. In my lifetime already I have witnessed seemingly impossible or out-of-this worldish gadgets that were only fantasized about in my early days come to reality. Things like plasma televisons...10(+) mega pixel digital cameras...DVD players...digital camera phones...Playstations...I-Pods...the list goes on and on. These are things most of the younger generation today takes for granted, but when I was a youngie, scientists were still dreaming of those things. Now every Tom, Dick and Dr. Harry are cloning animals and human embryos left and right! Lord help us now, forgive these feeble human minds as they attempt to play your part, for they know not what they do...I say that because I also know that every good invention eventually will be used with evil intentions! I can only dream of what's coming in the next 5-10 years...that is if we all don't let technology over-run us like they did in "I Robot". :o)
8 brothers and sisters helped me to understand.

As long as nobody clones GW Bush we'll be alright.
Just kidding Greggy. Excellent observations here.

Hey there mr. Greg. I liked the part where you mentioned that "I also know that every good invention eventually will be used with evil intentions" And that's really what is at the heart of the matter isn't it man? In the movie Jurassic Park 3, there is a great memorable line. It went: the worst things imaginable have been created with the best of intentions...Think about that a bit my friend. Another stunna as usual. Nice job.

What would we do without technology??? Like last week sometime it was storming so my power went out.. I was so miserable. I'm like WHAT would I do with electrity??? No internet, tv, radio, things like that.

Thats why I like visiting here, you make me think. I do wonder why technology has come so far, but medicine seems to have slowed way down. Seems anymore when I visit the doctor, they scratch their head, and tell me I'm stressed. I've figured out that stressed simply means, we don't know whats wrong with you. But they can fix my computer everytime.

Those friggin robots were scary! *nervous nail bite*
You should have gotten some of those thoughts of your patented. You could be rich man, rich!!
Hey now! Those robots were the joint tho! I know they could never be deployed in the "inner city" tho...naw, wouldn't work. And yes, I could've been "rich"...*sigh*...but hey, I'm wealthy in my mind anyway, so it's all gravy baby!

It's nice you're seeing the bigger picture to the rapid development of technology. With good, will always come some bad. Thanks for painting both pics, Greggy.
And thanks for the feedback you left on my recent posting. It's renewing my faith in the open-mindedness of our race.
Hey Miss Yolie, the honor is mine. It is blogs like yours that inspire me to write more. Sometimes I wish I could just write as eloquently or effortlessly like the rest of my blog fambily, but putting words together into coherent sentences is a struggle for me, thus I do my art thing instead. I really enjoy reading your open mindness and humour in the topics you choose to write about that's why your world is a personal favorite of mine!

O YEAM MAN! All these fly gadgets kids have to play with nowadays. When I was little we had stupid ish like SIT AND SPIN or something crazy. POGO STICKS & BIG WHEELS. HULA HOOPS. We thought those were REAL TOYS too! They sold us a dream!
Who you telling? When I was a lil person running around in the dirt we didn't even have stuff to ride or spin on...hell, BIG WHEELS were for "rich" kids where we came from...shooot! Talk 'bout appreciating everything I gots now! But they did weave a dream on us like you wouldn't believe!
